Theses Eyes of Mine

These eyes of mine...
Once veiled by the fog
Deceived by the cloak of fear
Seduced by the presence of chaos
Intimidated by the brutality of defeat
Now open to visions of clarity
The presence of possibility now in view
All things laid ahead of you
Appealing to the hope etched so perfectly in your vision
Open wide, my eyes...
See the veil of torment and alarm being lifted
Open wide, my beautiful eyes...
Witness the defense of your Savior as He pleads to our Father
Watch in awe, my great eyes
As the Father prepares a new vision and offers it to you as a gift
These eyes of mine...
See that you are beautiful
See that your sight has been restored.

We Do Know...

So many times when someone dies (particularly expectantly) you here someone say, "You never know" or "You just never know"... but the truth is we do! We do know that tomorrow is not promised, that life can change in a blink of an eye. We know that the last time you see someone may be the last time. We know life is short. We know people can leave us at any moment. We do know...we just forget...

I couldn't even comprehend the idea of living in a world without my father...and I still can't. But let me tell you, God's grace is sufficient and sustaining. It carries me even when I don't feel it, especially on those days where I question him, and I don’t understand his plan. There will always be an emptiness in my heart, and I will never seek to fill it. That space is reserved just for Daddy.

Truth

So going through some old files on my computer, I came across this expose (for lack of a better word) that I wrote last year. I had forgotten all about it. But I was even somewhat impressed on were my mind was on this particular day/time. So here you go... I am a person who likes to analyze words. Since I am somewhat of a writer (mainly poetry), I like to choose words carefully. Making sure that I fully understand their meaning and usage. Whenever I am writing a poem, in particular, I will analyze and research a word until I have found the perfect word to convey my message. No matter how simple or complex the word may be, I know what it is that I want to say, I know what message and point and emotion I want to express, so I choose carefully. When it comes to scripture and studying the word, I found myself engaging in the same practice. When a particular verse mentions a certain word, I will search other translations, other corresponding verses until I get a full understanding o...
